Celebrating Academic Excellence

Students present research and capstone projects during Fall Academic Symposium

The 2025 Fall Academic Symposium showcased the scholarly achievements of 好色先生tv students who engaged in high-impact learning experiences this semester—including research, creative work, internships, and global engagement. The annual event serves as a culminating opportunity for students to present their academic pursuits to peers, faculty, staff, and the wider campus community.

The symposium opened Wednesday, December 3, with two presentation sessions: “Global Histories of Masculinity” in the Athenaeum, and “Media and Communication Research and Internships” in Birdsong Hall. The celebration continued Thursday with two premier student speaker sessions, followed by an academic poster session featuring more than 70 student-designed posters highlighting diverse research and creative projects.

Premier Speaker Session I, “Academic Perspectives on Social Issues,” featured presentations by Elena Lectenwalner, Calee Lukowski, and Hunter Davenport. Premier Speaker Session II, “Environmentalism Across the Curriculum,” included work presented by Lily Reslink, Elizabeth Koble, Stephanie Clark, Jacob Hofstetter, and Haley Cummins.

In addition to academic presentations, students participated in rock painting activities in the Truist Lighthouse in Clarke Hall, offering a reflective space to consider themes of peace and community. The painted stones will be placed in the VWU Peace Garden as lasting symbols of inspiration and collaboration.
